The full form of DM is District Magistrate. 

Who is DM? District Magistrate. 

District Magistrate is responsible for the collection of land revenue in the district, the post is also known as the District Collector, and also the officer works under the supervision of the Divisional Commissioner, hence the post as Deputy Commissioner Is known. DM is head of district administrative system.

The District Magistrate or Collector is the Chief Executive of a district. He is responsible for running the district administration smoothly.

What is the Qualification of DM: How to become DM?

Every civil student has a big dream to get a Government job. As like as District Magistrate it is also the most honorable position. To become a District Magistrate, at first, you have to qualify the IAS examination.To become an IAS officer you need to appear in the IAS exams you have to prepare for the UPSC and APSC civil services examination. This exam is conducted for the selection of posts like IAS, IPS, IFS, etc

Educational Qualifications to appear in the Civil Service Exam to become DM.

Candidates must be a Graduation pass in any stream from any recognized University.

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years for all candidates.The maximum age is 32 years for General category candidates 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates 5 years for SC/ST candidates

How to Become DM: Dm Kaise Banta hai?

This exam is conducted in three stages:

Prelims: Syllabus of Paper I (200 marks) Duration: 2 hours 

  • Current Events of National and International Importance 
  • History of India and Indian National Movement 
  • Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and World 
  • Indian Politics and Governance - Constitution, Political System , Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. 
  • Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demography, Social Sector Initiatives, etc. 
  • General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change - which do not require subject expertise Is General Science 
Syllabus for Paper-II- (200 Marks) Duration: 2 hours
  • Comprehension
  • Interpersonal skill with communication skills; 
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability `
  • General mental ability to make decisions and problem-solving 
  • Basic numbers (numbers and their relation, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc.) - Class X level) 
Note 1: The CSAT Aptitude Test or Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be only a qualifying paper with a minimum of 33% marks for appearing in the Civil Services (Mains) Examination. 
Note 2: In both Paper-I (Current Affairs) and Paper-II (Aptitude Test), the questions will be multiple-choice, objective type for every 200 marks and the time allotted for each paper is two hours. 
Note 3: It is mandatory for the purpose of evaluation. The candidate has to appear in both the civil service (preliminary) examination papers. So if she (prelims) does not appear in both the papers of the examination, a candidate will be disqualified.

(Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations)

(Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management)

Paper-V-General Studies -IV 250 Marks

(Ethics, Integrity, and Aptitude)

Paper-VI- Optional Subject- Paper 1-250 Marks

Paper-VII

Optional Subject -Paper 2-250Marks

Interviews

  • If you have prelims and main clear, then it is your turn to give an interview in which your confidence level and education are checked.
  • You are tested whether you are right for this position, can you decide without discrimination and interview an important lesson for this post.
  • This test will be conducted in the language you choose.
  • Interviews will be graded for 275 marks.
  • The total marks of IAS is 2025 marks. Candidates are ranked on the basis of total and final interview is called.
  • There is a question in the mind of all of us that to become DM, the edge limit should be so much that one should also understand this question starting again:

How many times can candidates attempt this Examination to become DM? 

  • 6 attempts for general candidates
  • 9 attempts for OBC candidates
  • No restriction for SC/ST candidates

So, its suggestion for you after class 12th immediate completion. Must complete graduation in any stream from a recognized university. Then prepare for the civil service examination.
